How much a builder or remodeler website costs in 2026

Updated October 27, 2026.

A custom website from an agency that specializes in builders and remodelers costs $12,000 to about $26,000 to build in 2026, going by the prices Hook Agency, Contractor Growth Network and Builder Funnel publish. All three sell monthly marketing alongside the site, and Hook and Builder Funnel require it, so the first year with them runs about $36,000 to $77,000. Our price is $20,000 for the Signature site, fixed, with no retainer and nothing due up front.

What the agencies charge, by name

We read each agency's own pricing page on October 27, 2026. The first-year column is our arithmetic from their list prices. It leaves out ad spend, which is always billed separately.

A third-party view lines up with this. Project Cost Estimator's 2026 guide, built from 600+ quotes that include 19 construction sites, puts agency builds at $14,000 to $32,000 for a custom home builder and $20,000 to $55,000 for a design-build firm. Builder Funnel's own blog gives a broader range of $5,000 to $30,000 for a new site.

What drives the price

Custom design or a shared base

Hook's Standard site, built on Hook's own code base with your branding and photos, costs half its Custom site. A shared base is fine for a small trade business. A builder selling $1M homes or $150,000 remodels is judged on taste, and buyers notice when a site looks like everyone else's.

Project pages and case studies

A gallery is cheap. Case studies with scope, budget range and timeline take interviews and writing, and they are what answers "can they do this project?"

Photos

Professional photography is usually a separate cost. We work from the photos you already have. Builder Funnel offers an on-site filming trip as an add-on, which is a real difference if you need video.

Lead handling

A plain contact form costs almost nothing. A qualifying form that texts every opted-in lead within 60 seconds, plus tracking that ties each consultation to its source, takes setup, SMS registration and testing.

Pages and local content

Each service-area page and article adds writing time. Done badly, they turn into thin copies of each other.

Copywriting

Some agencies price copy separately. Ask.

The monthly costs that come later

The build price is rarely the whole bill. Check each of these before you sign:

  • Hosting and upkeep. Project Cost Estimator puts running costs for a construction site at $50 to $300 a month.
  • Retainers. Builder Funnel's FAQ asks whether you need a monthly retainer after the website is built, and answers "Yes." Hook sells its websites only with a recurring service.
  • Contract terms. Contractor Growth Network's SEO packages carry a 12-month commitment, then go month to month.
  • Technology fees. Builder Funnel's start at $540 a month.
  • Ad spend. Always separate. Builder Funnel suggests $1,000 to $5,000 a month depending on the plan.

None of this makes a retainer a bad deal. It means you should compare first-year totals, not build prices.

Where we sit, and who should pick someone else

Our Signature site is $20,000 once: up to 20 custom pages, your best photos edited and matched across the site, 6 case studies, a qualifying form with a 60-second text back, form and call tracking with a live dashboard, Google Business Profile setup with 6 service-area pages, and 90 days of conversion tuning. It goes live 8 to 10 weeks after you hand over content. You own the domain, code, hosting account and analytics.

The other options have real strengths, and you should know them:

  • Footbridge is hard to beat on price and risk. At $249 a month with a 90-day money-back guarantee, it suits a builder who just needs a decent site.
  • Hook publishes its prices and sells SEO and ads management alongside its sites.
  • Contractor Growth Network focuses on design-build remodelers and runs a free three-week discovery before building.
  • Builder Funnel works only with remodelers and custom builders, and its retainer means a team keeps marketing after launch.

With us the site is a fixed price you pay once, and ads or SEO are an optional add-on you can stop any month, never a condition of the build. We build your homepage first and you judge it before you owe anything.

FAQ

How much does it cost to have a website built professionally?

For a builder or remodeler, specialist agencies publish $12,000 to about $26,000 for the site itself. Flat-fee and subscription options run from about $99 to $249 a month. Our Signature site is $20,000.

Is $1,500 a good price for a website?

For a solo contractor, it can be. Project Cost Estimator puts a solo contractor or handyman site at $1,500 to $3,500 with a freelancer. For a firm selling six-figure projects, $1,500 rarely covers custom design, case studies or lead tracking.

How much does it cost monthly to own a website?

Hosting and basic upkeep run $50 to $300 a month for a construction site, per Project Cost Estimator. Retainers for SEO or ads are extra: $2,000 to $7,500 a month at the agencies above.

Is web design still worth it in 2026?

For a design-build firm, yes. Company websites supplied 18% of design-build leads in Qualified Remodeler's 2026 Top 500, close to the 23.1% from referrals.

Can you pay someone to design a website and own it outright?

Yes, but ask about ownership before you sign. Some platforms keep the site if you leave. With us you own the domain, the code, the hosting account and the analytics.

Can ChatGPT actually create a website?

It can write code and copy for a basic site. It can't pick your best projects, interview you about them, or set up a lead flow that texts back in 60 seconds and gets tested every week.
